Welcome!

The Friends of the Allen County Juvenile Center, Inc. (Friends of the ACJC) formed this website in an effort to reach out to our community for assistance in helping kids become the best they can be. Here, you’ll learn about our Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative (JDAI) which is an effort by State and local officials to lower the number of juveniles placed in secure detention by developing alternatives to detention. You’ll also learn of our programs to confront the root causes of juvenile delinquency with programs that assist parents with early childhood development (BrightSteps), intervene to prevent school truancy and dropping out (Check & Connect) and efforts to tutor and mentor kids that have gotten behind in school or need counseling (Day & Evening Reporting). To learn more, check out our About Us and Programs pages!
