Volunteer

Volunteers are needed, especially for the BrightSteps early childhood development initiative. BrightSteps is a play-based program focused on assisting parents in building strong, positive, healthy interactions with their infant child. But older siblings are also encouraged to attend and this is the area in which volunteers are most needed. Regarding the older siblings, volunteers are needed to assist in the development of critical literacy and social skills necessary for success in Kindergarten and the lower elementary grades.

Volunteers who wish to assist with sibling development in our BrightSteps program are encouraged to visit the “Project Reads Allen County Education Partnership” website found at http://abouteducation.org/. There you can take “Follow the Reader” tutorials that will prepare you to assist in the literacy development of our sibling participants.

Donate Books

In addition, you can help by donating books to our BrightSteps program for infants and young children to read in the home. Please use our Contact page to coordinate your volunteer activities or for a delivery time for your donation of books for infants and young children.
